June 29th - Summer 2012

This website will now return to a semi-active/fully active status. We have a ton of stuff going on, which is why we have been basically silent for a month. So here's an update.

To start, we are playing our last show of the summer (gasp, did summer even start yet?!?!) June 29th at the Speakeasy in Schofield (Wausau). This is going to be an absolutely awesome night. Sleeping In Gethsemane, an incredible instrumental, band will be coming through our humble/half-home-town of Wausau on their way out to the east coast to record with fucking Kurt Ballou. On top of that, Speaker Eater is joining the bill. 3 bands, no bullshit, free show.

Also, I screen printed what are probably the final run of our "AVOHFASIH" shirt. Not 100% on that, but we'll be doing some new stuff soon. On top of that, I printed 25 posters, each 100% unique for the June 29th show. They are numbered of coarse and range from black with red to maroon and yellow. SO, yes, we'll be selling those at the show! All merch sales are GREATLY appreciated right now, as we are doing a bit of fundraising. No, we aren't just going to ask you for money, we will make cool stuff (like this) and if you want to help, you get something awesome in return. Fundraising for what you ask?

We are heading out to the west coast August 9th - 19th. Most of the dates are confirmed, and we will be posting the routing very soon. We are incredibly excited to see all of you folks out west!

The lengths we go...

Here is a snapshot I took of my garage at the present moment. You are looking at the final round of hand painted Orwell posters we are working on.

There is going to be about 65 of these. 50 of them are going to the first 25 people at each of the two shows this weekend. The rest are for family and friends.

Either way, today I spent the first portion of my day cutting the inserts for the cassette tapes (also available for free to the first 25 people at the shows this weekend).

My point is, we are putting a lot of ourselves into everything that goes along with this record, and it's really great to be so excited for something. I hope you guys enjoy all the cool D.I.Y stuff we are going to be sending your way from now on, because we are having a blast creating it!

July 14 - Marquette MI, The Uptown

July 15 - Wausau WI, The Kruz In

Cassettes and posters will go to the first 25 people to visit the Orwell merch booth.

Posters:

We're Off!

Hey everyone!
Wow, it has been quite a while since the last update on here! Luckily most folk's attention spans allow only for facebook and twitter sized posts, or we'd be in trouble! haha
Anyway, Since the last time we updated this, we began sending the record out to various people of interest for reviews and whatnot, and they are SLOWLY trickling back in!
That being said, check out our 9.5 of 10 rating and review over at: http://www.nefariousrealm.com/reviews/orwell-avohfasih-kc.html

Also, check out the cover art for the album! WOAH!
We "secretly" released it to the reviewers, and gave them the thumbs up to post it. So anyway, it's official, below is the cover for AVOHFASIH. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you actually see the full packaging but this should tide you over for now.

Also, while we're on artwork, we have more! Below you will find the cover for our upcoming split single CASSETTE tape with the mighty SHROUD OF DESPONDENCY. Whew, A brand new Orwell track paired with some insanely good black metal, and all on a cassette tape? Are we nuts, or is this a really cool item? To make it even COOLER, we will be giving it away FOR FREE to the first 25 people to visit our merch booth at the next 2 shows we are playing (july 14 - Marquette MI, Uptown, July 15 - Wausau WI, Kruse Inn - facebook.com/orwellwi for full details) along with an original piece of art by our singer Logan! To recap: that's a free limited edition cassette (50 being made) and a free art poster (not print, actual PAINT! also only 50 being made!) all for the price of a show! Which in Marquette is FREE, and only $2 here in Wausau!

Alright, enough talking, stay on this page, bookmark it, add it to the homescreen on your iphone, whatever, MORE TO COME!
