...that time we heard our finished record...

So, it's been quite a while since you've heard form us and I thought it was time we let everyone know the record is now completed through the mix process. The only thing left is mastering. That said, we have been listening to the final mix, and honestly, I get more excited every time I listen to it! This record is a perfect culmination of everything we have been working for. Not only does it show our progression as musicians, but it shows what Orwell sounds like when we write an album together, versus penning everything separately and learning at practice. For those of you who weren't aware, this record is a concept album.

The theme of the record is the grieving process. We bring you into the fold with a devastating feel of loss and hopelessness, and throughout the course of the six songs, you as a listener, are taken on a journey from the depths of depression, into the wide open fields of hope. We wrote the instrumentation around this story arch, and then came in with the vocals and lyrics afterwords to really drive the point home. We all feel that we not only accomplished what we were trying to acheive, but also that we did so (with the help of Steve) in a manner that we never knew was even possible for us. Words can't describe how proud we are of this record!

Also, you will hear a slew of guest musicians, and contributors throughout the record. From the beginning, we knew that we wanted this to be a total package, from beginning to end, and journey with valleys and peaks. With that, we decided that since we have a plethora of talented people around us, we would bring those musicians into the fold and allow them to not only help us tell the story, but also to give the record the extreme variance that we were looking for.

So, we want to thank EVERYONE who was involved in making this record a reality, we couldn't have done this without you, and your contributions helped us take this from being another Orwell record, to being THE ORWELL RECORD, AVOHFASIH.

Some of the guest appearances you'll hear include some beautiful angelic vocals laid down by Danielle Taube and LeAnn Bradley,  a massive mantra performed by Adam Clemens (of Iron Thrones), and sound design by Steve Henningsgard (Iron Thrones) and Charlie Smyrk (Deep Sea Summit).

We will be announcing a release date, releasing cover art, and a making a new song available in early July. Keep your eye on this blog and our facebook for all things Orwell in the coming weeks and months!
